If you own a business and you feel like you’re trapped in a 50-70 hour working week then perhaps it’s time for a shift in perspective. No one would argue that owning a business is not hard work, it is. However, does that mean you have to burn yourself out on the road to success? The people from the Ferguson Valley Marketing and Promotions Inc would argue that it doesn’t.
Together with RSM Bird Cameron in Bunbury, Ferguson Valley Marketing and Promotions Inc will be hosting several business improvement seminars throughout 2010 to help reduce the problems that usually accompany business growth; common issues such as cash-flow management and budgets, how to deal with and retain key personnel, and even succession and estate planning as well as other valuable themes.
FVMP (Inc) Marketing Officer, Graham Hodgson says that the seminars will benefit businesses of all types and sizes including long-term businesses, new ventures, home-based businesses and others.
“This series of seminars will cover essential skills that will help any local business grow,” said Mr Hodgson. “Small business owners generally spend a lot of time at work and as a consequence these kinds of issues get put on the back burner. We’re encouraging local business owners to take the time to learn how to work smarter and not just harder.”
FVMP (Inc) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been in operation for twenty months. They exist to promote tourism, lifestyle and business opportunities in the Shire of Dardanup and the south west. To date about fifty local businesses have joined the association and new members are welcome. Benefits include networking and marketing opportunities as well as regular newsletters and the prospect of participating in business building seminars such as this current offering.
The first of this current season of seminars will be held 6-8pm April 28 2010 at the beautiful Evedon Park Bush Resort, Burekup and cabin-style accommodation is available if you want to take a relaxing overnight break.
Tickets are just $12 (members) or $20 (non-members). For the chance to learn how to be more productive in less time I’d say that is a great investment.
