BUSSELTON
|
Busselton is well known as a top tourist
destination in the south west, being voted
WA's top tourism town in 1995 and 1996, and
it continues to be one of Australia's fastest
growing retirement and holiday towns.
And it's not hard to see why. An amazing
range of attractions in and around the town
provide a seemingly endless list of experiences
to enjoy. From the famous Busselton Jetty
and Geographe Bay to the local caves, wineries,
wildflowers, and abundance of tourism based
businesses and tours.
Being very close the major tourist attractions
of the Margaret River Wine Region also ensures that

gateways to the south west.
But don't just think Busselton is a nice
place to visit, and not to stay. With a population
of 24,000 in the Shire, Busselton has become
one of those great towns in the south west
that provide the country lifestyle but with
the conveniences of a small city. People can
live here and not need to go anywhere else.
Busselton also has a great history, being
one of the earliest settlements in Western
Australia (1834).
An indication of the attractiveness of the
area is the huge influx of visitors during
peak holiday times, where the local population
often rises to over 60,000. |
