THE BEST OF OUR MOTHER's
DAY COMPETITION
Thanks for your stories about your
mums for last month's competition. We've reprinted
some of our favourites below:
From Melissa:
Well, the one story that pops to mind
when thinking of a story about my mum was the night
before my brother and my 12th birthday (12 years
ago). She snuck out while we were in bed to surprise
us and go and pick up a cat in Perth suburb. On
the way home, the cat was sitting on the passenger
front seat floor in a cardboard box and must have
got out and started causing havoc as my mum was
up on charges for driving through the window of
A.J's (old burger restaurant - like Hungry Jacks).
She ended up right at the counter with the menu
board right in front of her. WE laugh about
this often although she does not find it very amusing
at all.
From Katrina:
My mum only ever wanted to be a mum
and always takes pride in cleaning, washing, ironing,
cooking and caring for her family. Being a
mum is a career to my Mum but she also works full-time.
She is now a grandmother to two toddlers and her
love knows no bounds. She is the most generous
and giving person I know and I just wish that her
life could be easier so all she had to worry about
was visiting her kids and grandchildren.
From Meghan:
My mum is the dress up queen! She
is always making costumes to wear to a party! About
a year ago she surprised my best friend and I at
the Hungry Hollow Tavern dressed all in Pink - it
was definitely a sight. Next week she is going to
a party at the Admiral Hotel dressed as a Fairy.
People all admire her sense of fun and spirit -
most of all me!
