OXYGEN

BREATHING LIFE INTO BUNBURY'S YOUTH

By Graeme Olsen

It's always good to hear a positive story about our young people.

Oxygen, a monthly Christian worship event for Bunbury's youth, is not-so-quietly attracting more and more young people each time it's on.

With crowds in excess of 300, the events are not for the feint hearted. If you go for a look, expect some hard core music, a dazzling light show, mosh pit and more, followed by a speaker who will challenge you to live the life you've always really wanted. Full of 'growth nutrients', these nights are big on building up young people. As Oxygen organisers will tell you, "It's a time to hang out with each other, have fun, and get to know God".

The other exciting thing about these events is that most of the teenagers who attend aren't just there to have a good time. They really are passionate about changing their community for the better. Watch out Bunbury!

Oxygen events are open to everyone between the ages of 13 and 25. Entry is free, and absolutely everyone is welcome - even if you want to just stand up the back and watch!

The events are hosted by a different church each month. Camps and other events are also scheduled from time to time. All events are alcohol and drug free.

The best way to find out what's coming up is at their website at www.oxygenyouth.com.
